Welcome to our website. Waterside Parents’ Centre is a small charity based in Gravesend, Kent, providing support for parents with pre-school aged children. This is a unique service that focuses on the needs of parents. On average, the charity receives 120 referrals every year. We accept referrals from professional agencies (please note we are unable to accept referrals from families who are receiving support from Children’s Social Services). With nearly 30 years’ experience, Waterside Parents’ Centre has supported thousands of families over the years, many of whom have described Waterside as “a life line” and “a life saver”.
At Waterside Parents’ Centre, we recognise and understand that becoming a parent is completely life-changing. Parenthood is amazing but it can also be lonely and isolating. We offer support in a welcoming and non-judgemental environment to support parents with:
- Emotional health and wellbeing
- Building confidence and self-esteem
- Parenting and relationships
- Post-Natal Depression
- Socialisation
- Parenting skills
- Overcoming loneliness
- Anxiety
Since awarded National Lottery Reaching Communities funding in 2015, we have supported more than 900 Families in Gravesham. On average we receive 100 referrals every year so have supported thousands of families since becoming established in 1997.
Waterside Parents’ Centre is proud to be funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Since receiving this particular funding in 2015, we have supported over 900 families in Gravesend. On average we support 75 families at any given time and families can access our support for as long as they need to, up until the youngest child starts school. The centre is open 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year (only closing during the Christmas period).
