Kent Charity Award Finalists 2026…

We have some incredibly exciting news to share with our Waterside family, partners, and supporters!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Waterside Parents’ Centre has been named a finalist in the Kent Charity Awards 2026 for Mental Health Charity of the Year.

To be recognised alongside some of the most dedicated and impactful organisations in the county is a massive honour. For nearly 30 years, our core aim has been to provide a safe, welcoming, and entirely non-judgemental space for parents navigating the life-altering journey of early parenthood. Being named a finalist is a beautiful testament to the vital importance of that mission.

Why This Recognition Means So Much

At Waterside, we have always believed that looking after a parent’s emotional wellbeing is one of the greatest gifts we can give to a child. Whether it is through our structured drop-ins, one-to-one support, or our social and emotional wellbeing partnerships with a crèche provided, we strive to ensure no parent in Gravesham has to walk this path alone.

On average, we receive well over 100 referrals every year. Hearing our families describe the centre as a “lifeline” or a “lifesaver” is the greatest reward we could ever ask for- but having that hard work recognised on a county-wide scale by the Kent Charity Awards judges is the icing on the cake.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes an incredible village to run a charity. A massive thank you to:

  • Our Dedicated Staff & Volunteers: Who put their hearts, empathy, and professional expertise into supporting our families every single week.

  • Our Board of Trustees: Whose guidance and behind-the-scenes work keep our doors open and our services focused.

  • Our Funders and Supporters: From the National Lottery Community Fund, Trusthouse Charitable Foundation, and Colyer Fergusson, to local community groups, businesses, and the Mayor’s Charity- your support ensures we can keep providing these vital services.

  • Most Importantly, Our Parents: Thank you for supporting one another, and making Waterside the warm, resilient community it is.

Stay tuned for updates, and thank you for being on this journey with us!
